Does Red Grid Link work without cell service?

Yes. Red Grid Link uses GPS satellites for positioning and Bluetooth for team sync. No cell towers, no WiFi, no internet required. Download maps ahead of time for full offline operation.

What data does Red Grid Link collect?

None. No accounts, no analytics, no cloud sync, no tracking. Location data stays on your device. Field Link session data is ephemeral and disappears when the session ends.

How is Red Grid Link different from ATAK?

Red Grid Link is a lightweight ATAK alternative. It works on both iOS and Android (ATAK is Android-only), requires no TAK Server, sets up in 30 seconds, and is designed for civilian SAR, hunting, and backcountry teams rather than military operations.

Can I use Red Grid Link for hunting?

Yes. Hunting mode adapts terminology and icons for hunting operations, including stand locations and party tracking.

When is Android coming?

Android is currently in closed beta testing on Google Play. Full public launch is coming soon.
