About Red Grid Tactical

Built by someone who needed it in the field.

Why Red Grid Exists

Red Grid Tactical was founded by an active duty Army officer who spent years watching the gap between military-grade navigation tools and what civilian teams actually have access to. Military units have ATAK, DAGR receivers, and encrypted radio networks. A volunteer SAR team trying to coordinate a search in the backcountry? They get group texts that don't work without cell service.

The idea was simple: take the concepts that work in military operations and make them accessible to everyone. Real MGRS coordinates, not approximations. Encrypted peer-to-peer sync, not cloud-dependent tracking. Tools that work when infrastructure doesn't. No accounts to create, no servers to maintain, no subscriptions required just to see where your teammate is.

Red Grid started as a solo MGRS navigator (Red Grid MGRS) that could match the precision of a $2,500 military DAGR. Then came the question every team lead asks: how do I see where my people are? That became Red Grid Link, with its Field Link proximity sync engine. Two apps, one mission: give small teams the situational awareness tools that used to require military infrastructure.

Transparent Security

We believe security tools should be verifiable. The encryption in Red Grid apps uses industry-standard AES-256-GCM with ECDH P-256 key exchange. No proprietary black boxes. No security through obscurity. Every packet is encrypted with military-grade cryptography, and we publish detailed documentation of our security architecture so you can verify our claims.

Your data stays on your device. No analytics, no tracking, no cloud sync, no accounts. Field Link sessions are ephemeral. When you disconnect, the session data disappears. That's not a feature we advertise. It's a design principle.

What Powers Red Grid
