Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Red Grid Tactical apps, including Red Grid MGRS and Red Grid Link, are built with a privacy-first, offline-first architecture. We do not run user accounts, analytics, advertising networks, or tracking systems. Your location data, waypoints, saved areas, session history, and configuration stay on your device unless you deliberately export, share, or transmit them.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

GPS or location data
Personal information (name, email, phone)
Device identifiers for tracking
Usage analytics or behavioral data
Contacts, photos, or other device content

The apps have no user accounts, no login, and no cloud sync.

3. Peer-to-Peer and Mesh Data

Red Grid Link can share team position data directly between nearby devices via Bluetooth Low Energy and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi. Red Grid MGRS can optionally interact with Meshtastic radios over Bluetooth for solo mesh awareness. These workflows are initiated by the user and do not use Red Grid servers.

Peer-to-peer or mesh data:

Travels directly between nearby devices or radios
Is not sent to Red Grid Tactical servers
Is session-scoped unless you choose to save or export it
Uses the relevant platform, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or radio transport for that feature

Field Link secure sessions use AES-256-GCM with ephemeral session keys. Open or training modes should be treated as convenience modes, not secure communications.

4. Local Storage

The apps store the following data locally on your device:

App settings and preferences
Saved waypoints
Saved areas of operation and offline tile status
Session history where applicable
Downloaded offline map tiles
Subscription entitlement status

All local data can be cleared by uninstalling the App.

5. Crash Reporting

Red Grid MGRS does not embed analytics or tracking SDKs. If release-only crash diagnostics are enabled in a Red Grid app to resolve stability issues, reports are configured to avoid operational data:

Do not include location data (stripped before sending)
Do not include personal information
Contain only technical stack traces and device model info
Are used solely for stability improvements

6. In-App Purchases

Subscription and purchase transactions are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Subscription management is handled through your store account settings.

7. Third-Party Services

The apps may use public map tile providers such as OpenStreetMap and OpenTopoMap when you choose to view or download map tiles. Those services may log standard HTTP request data such as IP address and tile coordinates. Offline map tiles, once downloaded, require no network connection.

We do not embed any third-party advertising, analytics, or social media SDKs.

The contact form on our website (redgridtactical.com) is delivered through Formspree, which forwards only the name, email address, and message you choose to submit so that we can reply. This applies to the website contact form only, not to the apps. You can also reach us directly at [email protected].

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the App with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
